India’s burgeoning electric two-wheeler market has reached a new milestone with the launch of the Ultraviolette X47 Crossover, the world’s first commercially available motorcycle to come standard with both integrated radar and camera safety systems. Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive unveiled the X47 at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹2.49 lakh for the first 1,000 customers, available for pre-booking at just ₹999, with deliveries set to commence in October 2025.
Cutting-Edge UV HyperSense Radar and Camera Integration
At the heart of the Ultraviolette X47 Crossover lies the proprietary UV HyperSense system, marrying 6th-generation 77GHz long-range radar capable of monitoring up to 200 meters and adapting to lean angles of up to 20 degrees with a dual-camera suite. This pioneering setup delivers four critical safety functions: blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assistance, overtake alerts, and rear-collision warnings. Complemented by a 5-inch secondary display, riders receive both visual and haptic feedback, addressing traditional motorcycle visibility limitations.
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO of Ultraviolette Automotive, explains, “On a motorcycle, there is no rear view, only side view mirrors. So it is a very compromised viewing angle.” The UV HyperSense system solves this challenge by seamlessly integrating radar data and high-definition video, ensuring real-time situational awareness for enhanced rider confidence and safety.
Advanced Performance Specifications

Built on Ultraviolette’s proven F77 platform, the X47 Crossover packs a 10.3 kWh battery delivering an IDC-certified range of 323 km on a single charge. Its electric motor produces 40 hp and a formidable 610 Nm of torque at the rear wheel, propelling the motorcycle from 0–100 km/h in just 8.1 seconds and topping out at 145 km/h.
Safety and performance features include:
- Bosch 10th-generation dual-channel ABS with mode switching
- Four levels of traction control for varied riding conditions
- Nine levels of regenerative braking to maximize efficiency
- Onboard 1.6 kW air-cooled charger, the most power-dense in its category
Market Context and Strategic Impact
India’s electric two-wheeler sales surpassed 657,000 units in H1 2025, marking a 9.9% year-over-year growth despite tapering government incentives. Market leader TVS Motor Company holds a 21.6% share, followed by Bajaj Auto at 19.1%. By introducing radar-camera integration as standard, Ultraviolette raises the bar for safety technology in the premium electric segment, challenging incumbents and signaling a shift toward smarter, more secure ride experiences.
Ultraviolette Automotive, founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, has garnered investment from Qualcomm Ventures, TVS Motors, and EXOR’s Lingotto. Having set its sights on selling 10,000 units in the current fiscal year, the company is scaling production capacity from 30,000 to 100,000 units annually to meet demand.
Variants, Pricing, and Availability
The X47 Crossover will be offered in three core variants—Laser, Airstrike, and Shadow—each with unique colour schemes and accessory options. A special Desert Wing edition, engineered for touring, features reinforced crash guards, pannier mounts, and a taller windscreen. After the introductory run, pricing will adjust to ₹2.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
Pre-bookings open immediately via Ultraviolette’s online portal and authorised dealerships, with a refundable booking fee of ₹999. Deliveries begin in October 2025 domestically, with global shipments slated for early 2026.
